Itinerary
Arrival
time is 10:00 a.m. to noon the day before the scheduled date of
your hunt, preferably before noon, no exceptions made. Upon your
arrival, you will be shown to your rooms and given a tour of the
facilities. Your guide will then take you to the property where
that trophy whitetail or turkey eats, sleeps and breathes!
He will show you to a few of the treestands or blind locations
that you will be hunting from in the following days and give you
his advice on what he believes to be the best place for you to harvest
a big Illinois buck or longbeard. Please ask as many questions as
you would like; we want you to be fully aware of and comfortable
in your surroundings.
After you have seen the area you will then come back to the lodge
and shoot your bow and get ready for the next day’s hunt.
A typical full day deer hunt starts before daylight-exact times
vary depending on the length of travel to the farm you are hunting.
If you are comfortable in the area and know how to get to your stand
we will let you go on your own from a drop-off point. This way puts
less pressure and impact on the land and deer; however, we will
be happy to escort you to your stand if needed. All trails will
be marked for easy visibility. If you have driven your own vehicle
or a rented one you will drive yourself to the drop-off point so
you may come and go as you please. The end of the day comes one
½ hour after sun down. Your guide will be waiting for you
at the drop-off point or lodge, which ever you and the guide have
arranged. We can then put together a plan for the next day. We greatly
encourage all hunters to sit all day during your hunt. This will
increase your odds of harvesting a trophy white tail as much as
sixty percent.
A typical turkey hunt will start early in the morning as well and
last through noon. All turkey hunts are on a 1 on 1 or 2 on 1 basis.
Be prepared to cover some land, as these majestic birds like to
travel through the big hardwoods. Your guide will put you on top
of some of the most exciting turkey hunting around. These birds
like to gobble and will get right up close and personal. As you
can see we will try to build this hunting experience around your
wants and needs as much as we can. We want you to enjoy your time
here as well as harvest a trophy.
