Making Plans
Our lodging facilities are located in the middle of premier whitetail
and turkey hunting. The main Lodge is fully equipped with a large
kitchen, dining room, and full basement rec room complete with a
pool table, poker table, and flat screen tv with satellite.
Four cabins that include bunk beds to sleep four, full bathroom,
microwave, refridgerator, and loft storage area insure our hunters
comfort and personal space. Our lodge and cabins are located approximately
12 miles south of Quincy, Illinois. Quincy is a city of 40,000 people
and offers two movie theatres, numerous restaurants and stores including
Super Wal-Mart and GameMasters sporting goods.
All meals are included in the hunt price starting with supper on
the day of your arrival and ending with breakfast on the day of
your departure. Breakfast is continental with a nice assortment
of items such as fruit, cereal, toast, granola bars, instant oatmeal,
doughnuts or some kind of yummy homemade goody. We encourage our
hunters to sit all day if possible and will pack a sack lunch (sandwich,
dessert, chips, and your choice of fruit). However, for those of
you not quite tough enough to sit it out we provide a hot lunch
consisting of homemade soup, sandwiches, etc. Suppers range from
meatloaf to lasagna to venison stew and are always finished with
a delicious homemade dessert. Our kitchen staff aim to please and
we are happy to accomodate any special dietary needs if you let
us know in advance.
On our premises we have an archery range with 3-D targets so our
hunters can refine their skills at making good, clean kill shots.
We STRONGLY recommend that anyone who wishes to hunt with us is
proficient at making kill shots up to 40 yards.
As of the 2005 season, our hunters have to call in to the Illinois
DNR or go on their website to apply for tags and licenses. Tags
and licenses are given on a lottery basis. Because there is preference
given to those non-residents hunting with outfitters, hunters must
use our specific outfitter number when they apply. If you do not
draw a preference tag, your name will be put into the general lottery
for a second chance.
Any deposit (which is defined as ½ your total hunt price)
given is nonrefundable. However, if you apply for a tag and do not
get drawn at all, your deposit will be rolled over to the next year’s
season.
To contact the Illinois DNR you can call them at 1-888-673-7648
or get on their website at www.dnr.state.il.us.
